On With The Good Life!

We never thought this day would come. And Pigs aren't even flying nor has hell frozen over. I am happy to announce that my dad's last day of work was on Friday, January 29th! He had been on his last business trip in DC the week before last and spent the last part of the trip in Ohio for 6 days visiting his parents, brother and his family. Then he had to go back to the office on Friday to turn in his computer and badge as well as have lunch with his secretary. What a great day! So now my dad will join my mom every Monday and Tuesday to take care of Shaye. She will really benefit from having him there too as he is a very hands-on Grandpa. Plus, my mom needs some relief! It's much easier to share the responsibilities, especially now that she is awake for longer periods of time. I am so thrilled that my dad is finally going to enjoy life with my mom without that cloud of his work hanging over his head. They have waited so long for this day and it's here! Cheers, Dad....let the celebration begin! Happy Retirement!
