Making Strides on the House

The house has been the name of the game for over two weeks now, non-stop! Now that Ryan's parents are home, Ryan and Rick will be able to tackle projects that he couldn't do on his own or with my Dad. Here's the progress thus far:
1) All pictures are hung, decoratives are out
2) New couch is purchased, but won't be delivered until mid July (it's lawn chair livin'!)
3) All bathroom fixtures are up
4) Outside light fixtures wired and hung
5) Half of patio overhang is painted
6) One side yard is landscaped
7) Outside drains have been unplugged and are functional
8) Carpets professionally cleaned
9) Blinds up in 3 rooms
10) Window treatments ordered for 2 rooms
11) 3 Ceiling fans wired and hung, additional ceiling light hung in 1 room
12) Refrigerator, garbage disposal, stove fixed

Yet to do:
1) New shower door
2) New shower fixtures in 2 bathrooms
3) 3 new glass windows
4) Pool re-plastering and replacement of pool equipment
5) Touch up paint in the inside of house
6) Window treatments need to be installed and ordered for remaining few rooms
7) Get rid of stairs leading up to outside deck and replace the railing
8) Complete landscaping for other side yard
9) Purchase patio furniture
10) Purchase 1 closet door, Hang 3 closet doors
11) Replace flooring with tile in 2 bathrooms
12) Paint nursery, hang pictures, decorate, buy furniture

We don't foresee a relaxing weekend for awhile, but we are learning a lot with the home improvements and cannot wait to actually enjoy this new home of ours. We have learned that home ownership is CASH!

Baby Bump

Here I am at 6 months in my After Work House Projects attire. I wear my Belly Band most everyday, especially to work since 80% of my pants won't button, but they fit otherwise. I have been feeling her move around for a few weeks - in spurts - mostly when I'm still. Sometimes I can look down and see my belly moving and Ryan can feel it too. I'm feeling great and have kept my energy up. It's getting uncomfortable sleeping on my sides, but not too bad. Next week I enter into the 3rd trimester. Let's get this show on the road!

Made It to 9762 Willow Glenn!

Well, we survived the big move from 49 Regal to our new home. It was brutal and still a work in process. We had Movers and it took 4 hours for those two guys to load up our furniture and boxes into the truck and another 2 for the drive and unloading. That was not a cheap expenditure, but we couldn't have done it any other way. Even with that help, I have never worked so hard and I'm 6 months pregnant! I did not do things to jeapordize my health, but seriously we worked 18 hour days starting Friday night through Sunday. And we now come home each night working on more projects to get things working right, putting stuff away, hanging pictures, making trips to Lowe's, etc. My parents were a tremendous help all weekend. Ryan's parents left for Costa Rica on Friday but they did a lot of the pre-move in help with the termite guys, etc. The support has been amazing. Ryan's grandma even helped pre-clean the new house and my grandpa stopped by on moving day to check out the house! My mom and I cleaned up Regal and so far, escrow is expected to close on 6/12. In the meantime, Ryan and I have a big project list, are prioritizing what we can afford and are working our way through it. This is a totally different experience than our "junior" home ownership experience of a new home. A big, older house is a challenge that we are ready to take on! Did I mention that we love our new house?!!
