3rd Trimester

We finally got to see her up close and personal through the 3rd trimester ultrasound. Mainly they are checking to see if the growth is on target comparing the weight, measurements and the number of weeks (age). Little Miss Flower is currently 3.8 pounds which makes her at the 32nd percentile for her age thus far. So, she's on the small side but no concern on their end. The technician believes we will have a 7 pound baby if she goes full term. Everything looks great otherwise - plenty of amniotic fluid and she's positioned head and face down which is her "launching position" and where she should be. We got to see some shots of her face and moving her lips gulping some water (her stomach was full of water since she's drinking away)! The technician said the space is very tight in my belly so there's not much room for her to move around. I've gained 14 pounds now and at this point, my right side is fairly uncomfortable - my rib hurts quite a bit along with this one little area in my lower back. But, only a month and a half left so we can make it! Ryan and I were so happy that she looked great in there. The profile picture reminds me of Ryan's chin and mouth. She seemed to have big eyes which may be mine. Can't wait to see her!

San Diego Saturday

Ryan and I drove to San Diego on Saturday to visit some good friends and had a great day down there. The first stop was to see April and Jason's new home in Rancho Bernardo. I used to work in RB so I know it's a great area, but their home is just beautiful, with a view of the golf course and in a nice neighborhood. The home has some nice upgrades as well and of course, their decorative taste is classy. We went to lunch and got to catch up which was long overdue. I can't wait to see April again this weekend at the Baby Shower.

Our next stop was in La Mesa for Julie's Birthday Party. Julie lives in Denver but came to San Diego for a teacher's conference and was staying with her friend, Melissa for the weekend. I made up stories as to why I couldn't make it down for a visit but unbeknown to her, a Surprise Party was already in the works. She (finally) showed up at 3pm and the surprise was classic and Ryan caught a great shot! Her best friend in Denver flew down for a day for this party so it was great to meet Angela. We had fun visiting with her considering I only see her once or twice a year and she was stoked to see my growing belly. Happy Birthday, J!

The Date Has Been Set!

The date has finally been scheduled with Hoag Hospital for my C-section! So if all goes as planned, I will be delivering on Tuesday, September 22 at 12 noon. Since I like to sleep in, this is perfect! :) The countdown continues...

Joyce's Birthday

Our second hosted event at our new home (the first being Father's Day with my family) was Ryan's mom's (Joyce) birthday celebration. There are actually many birthdays on that side of the family in July so we celebrated them all. It was fun to show off the house but even more fun to spend time with everyone (Nana & Pops, Rick & Joyce, Grandma Barbara, Gerry & Diane Aust, and my parents). A good time for all!

Finally Some Time with Friends

We have seen our families a lot recently due to some holidays and birthdays as well as their help with our move, but haven't had much time for friends. So, it was great to finally have a weekend to see close friends that we don't see very often. Dan and Ryan went to high school together and have stayed close buds over the years. He married a fabulous woman, Laura, a year and a half ago. She happens to be pregnant, just 3 weeks ahead of me, due on September 1st. They live in LA so we don't see them much but on Friday night, they came down to see us, our new house, and go to an Angels ball game. It was so much fun to share pregnancy stories with Laura and we had a great time visiting at the game. We scalped tickets and that was an adventure in itself (for a sold out game!). Thank you Dan and Laura, for making the drive. Next time, we'll head up there, probably with babies in tow!

My dear friend from college, Elan, was our next visitor on Saturday. She was in San Diego for a short while visiting her parents (she lives in Philadelphia) and since she was on her way up to LA, Elan and her mom stopped by for lunch and again to see the new house. They hit some terrible traffic so they weren't able to stay as long as planned but that was ok because we were in the middle of pool construction, couch deliveries, window treatment hanging, etc. The best news was confirmed - Elan is moving back to San Diego in November! I can't wait to have one of my closest friends back in Southern California! Plus, I will then be able to see her find the man of her dreams from close proximity. Thanks Elan and Judy, for stopping by. We'll make a weekend SD visit over the holidays perhaps!

7 Months and Finally Looking It!

It's been no secret that I have been gaining weight very slowly and I have yet to look pregnant up until very recently. I actually believe my belly has grown substantially in the last 2 weeks which has been a strange feeling. And I was right. I got on the scale last night and have gained 3 pounds in the last week and a half and now I'm up to 13 total! My doctor will be so pleased at my check-up next week! Check out the belly pics. I feel the waddle coming on!

A June Wedding

This was our first night out in more than a month since our moving ordeal. It was nice to get out, enjoy the company of friends, and witness a lovely wedding. Our friends, Charlen and Paul, got married on June 27th at a beautiful church in Monarch Beach and the reception was held at the Dana Point Yacht Club. My good friend, Casey, was the Maid of Honor, and we got to hang out with Brian and Jen most of the evening. Here's some pics from this event!
