It's Finallly Easter!

Shaye has been looking forward to Easter all month long. After last week's Easter egg hunt, she knew what to expect, but I think it was a even better. We were able to leisurely get up in the morning, with a surprise basket from the Easter Bunny in the living room. She was so excited to see 3 books, bunny bubbles, a "carrot" handle jump rope, paddle ball, and a coloring book. After eggs benedict for breakfast, Dad hid the eggs outside that Mom had filled with treats such as craisins, nuts, and graham crackers. Shaye was able to find all 18 eggs in the yard and had a great time looking for them!
We met up with my parents for noon mass. After Shaye's nap, we went to Joyce & Rick's for Easter dinner with the Flower family as well as my parents. Shaye had another Easter Egg hunt with the eggs she died at their house on Friday.
Shaye's Great Grandma Barbara gave her a stuffed bunny that is as tall as she is! She loves "Bunny" and drags her up and down the stairs at home (and often puts Bunny in her crib at night). As usual, Shaye entertained us all, with her dance moves and the ability to get everyone up on their feet, dancing away! Happy Easter everyone. He is risen!

Irvine Park Easter Egg Hunt

My friend, Jen, and her 1 1/2 year old son, Mason, joined Shaye and I for the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Irvine Regional Park. They have lots of Easter related activities for the kids and it was fun to see them hunt around for their treat filled eggs!

We also rode on the train. Choo-choo!

After a picnic near the lake with ducks, several visits from wandering peacocks, and a lot of play time at the nearby park, the kids (and moms!) had definitely kicked off this Easter season!
