Tim McGraw & Kenny Chesney Concert

I had yet to see Tim McGraw in concert even after all these years of listening to country music.  So when Tim came to town, I jumped at the chance to see him.  He is on tour with Kenny Chesney, who I also have come to enjoy, and Ryan is a big fan of Kenny's.  My friend, Elan, came down from LA to attend the concert with us at Angels Stadium.  It was a fantastic show (and our seats in the shade was a huge score!).
Jake Owen opened up and he was solid with a lot of great songs that we sang along to.  Unfortunately the only part of the concert that wasn't enjoyable was Grace Potter, who opened up second, because no one knew any of her music and I would hardly call it country.  But Tim came on stage next and he looked amazing!  He sang many of his classics along with the newbies and I enjoyed every minute.
Kenny put on a great show as well.  He has a ton of energy and played all of his fun party tunes.
It was a very long show so after 6.5 hours, we were definitely ready to head home.  Thanks to my parents for babysitting past 11pm.  I am so glad to have experienced such a fun concert with a couple of my favorite people!

4th of July Festivities

We attended the annual Rocking Horse Ridge 4th of July Parade in the morning.  Next year we hope that Shaye will be able to ride her bike during the parade, but this year it was Ryan pushing her little car again.
The highlight was definitely the jump house (which she spent 75% of the time doing);

as well as the nail booth (for Shaye & I).
It is always nice to socialize with our neighbors since we rarely see any of them.  Shaye had a blast and we were glad we made it out for this event.
The weather was inclement so we avoided the pool later on and ran some errands (including getting our iPad replaced since it had a hardware issue).  Later Ryan BBQ'd some amazing baby back ribs and corn on the cob and we also enjoyed cole slaw.  Shaye had seconds!  We threw down some little Popper fireworks on our driveway - Shaye and Ryan got into it!

Even though my parents are in Colorado, we decided to watch the fireworks from their deck to avoid the crowds.  Although the fireworks are not super close in proximity, we had a relaxing evening, swinging on the deck to the sights and sounds of the fireworks covering Orange County.  What more could you ask for?!
